Chaos and coaching changes have characterized the old lady over the past five years. A former Juventus coach believes it will soon work out, then the world’s best coach will come back and lead the club.

It sounds like a dream scenario with pressure on dream, but 77-year-old Luigi “Gigi” Maifredi, who managed Juventus for one season in the early 1990s, is convinced Pep Guardiola is up for the challenge.

“I’m sure Juve have a big move in mind, and I think I’m right when I say it’s Guardiola. He has a contract with Manchester City, but he wants to come to Italy for a coaching assignment,” Maifredi said, according to journalist Nicolo Schira.

The former Juve coach draws a parallel to Formula 1, where Lewis Hamilton left Mercedes and drives for Ferrari this season.

“It would be like Hamilton to Ferrari,” Maifredi said.

Juventus recently fired Thiago Motta, in came Igor Tudor under contract until the end of the season with an option for another season, which will be redeemed if the Champions League ticket is secured.

Then we will see if Pep Guardiola takes the call from Turin. There was talk that the Spaniard had a verbal deal with Juventus in 2019, but chose to stay at Manchester City.
