Earlier this summer, there were strong rumours that Al-Hilal were interested in the Portuguese international, but Fernandes turned down the opportunity to leave for the Saudi Arabian club.

Now, however, new interest is emerging from Saudi Arabia, where Al-Nassr is reportedly determined to secure Manchester United’s captain in a deal that could be worth as much as £100 million for “The Red Devils”.

Al-Nassr are led by Jorge Jesus, who previously coached Fernandes at Sporting Lisbon, and they also have Cristiano Ronaldo in their squad. According to reports, the legendary striker has contacted his national team teammate to persuade him.

Ronaldo is now also the joint owner of Al-Nassr, and it is believed that he is actively working to bring Fernandes to the club that finished third in the Saudi Pro League last season.

Fernandes “not interested” in Al-Nassr transfer this summer

According to journalist Ben Jacobs, Fernandes plans to spend at least one more season at Manchester United, and he will therefore reject any offers from Al-Nassr.

The report claims that the 30-year-old midfielder wants to continue playing in Europe at this stage of his career, and he is focused on the new season with Manchester United

Fernandes has been one of Manchester United’s best signings of all time, with 98 goals and 86 assists in 290 appearances for the club since joining from Sporting Lisbon in January 2020.

Last season, he recorded 19 goals and 19 assists in 57 appearances across all competitions, and he has shown strong form ahead of the new season.

A move away from Old Trafford next summer is certainly a possibility, as he will only have one year left on his contract.

If a big offer were to come from Saudi Arabia next year, Manchester United would face a difficult decision. However, much will depend on how the 2025/26 season develops, as the club aims for a return to the Champions League.
