Confident Al-Nassr with their superstars topped with Cristiano Ronaldo were absolutely sure that Kawasaki Frontale would not be a problem to beat in the AFC Champions League in the semi-finals.
Kawasaki Frontale, which is owned by the conglomerate Fujitsu, has nothing to do with motorcycles other than that they come from the same city, have no superstars and a budget that is about half of Ronaldo’s salary. (€200 million per year)
A bit the same ratio as we will see in the semi-finals between Tottenham and Bodø/Glimt in the Europa League.
It didn’t go as expected Al-Nassr failed and crashed out of the AFC Champions League in the semi-finals, and the team has also fallen behind in league play.

Ronaldo wrote after the game: Sometimes the dream has to wait. I’m proud of this team and everything we gave on the pitch. 🔵

Nicolò Schira reports that Ronaldo has had enough and that he wants Stefano Pioli to leave the club.
Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr were favourites to win the semi-final against Japanese Kawasaki in the AFC Champions League. But it ended in a 3-2 loss and a huge failure for the Saudi Arabian club.
Also in the domestic league, the title is far away. With five rounds to go, they are eight points behind league leader Al-Ittihad.
Rumours claim that current coach Stefano Pioli, former manager of AC Milan, could leave the club in the summer. It is reported that both Roma and another Serie A club are interested in signing Pioli.
