Nicklas Bendtner, Mike Jensen, Christian Gytkjær, Casper Tengstedt. These are some of the Danes who have had great success at Rosenborg and in Norwegian football. More people choose the road north, 20-year-old Mads Bornholt is the last man to move to RBK – and likes what he sees and hears.
Bornholt chose exit Aab and the Danish Super League, the “Danish history” at Rosenborg was an important factor.

“Of course, it’s something people talk about. When I go up here and hear what success the Danish players have had in the past, it gives me blood on my teeth. It also helped convince me, as I knew that many Danes have had success up here,” says Mads Bomholt in an interview with Danish Bold.
Mads Bornholt was one of AaB’s biggest profiles after he had worked his way up from the academy and into the first team. So why RBK, in addition to the group of former Danish players who had succeeded at Lerkendal?
“It was partly because of the club’s ambitions. It has been a bit downhill for them in recent years, but the ambitions and drive I was presented with were insanely convincing and exciting. They want to go back to the top, and that was something I could see myself in. They have also presented a very good plan for my development, and that was one of the things that weighed heavily in the transfer, the new RBK player continues.

“It was a place where I could feel that I had the support of the coaches, the management and the players. At the same time, I am matched at an incredibly high level. I could feel that in the first training, there was quality throughout, Bornholt boasts.
