Danish players who move to Aspmyra often leave Bodø with a smile on their face (with a few exceptions). Mathias Jørgensen has used the short time at the elite league club well, the next natural step for the 25-year-old is English football and the traditional club Blackburn Rovers. Jørgensen is unlikely to forget his stay at Glimt.

“I leave Bodø as a much, much, much better player,” Mathias Jørgensen begins to Glimt’s website.

“There are two things I would like to highlight as my highlights in Bodø/Glimt. The first thing is to be able to be with all the good people in the club and in the city. From a sporting point of view, you might think that playing in the Champions League has been the biggest thing, but I think the biggest moment was when we qualified for the Champions League in Austria. It was fantastic to see how much it meant to everyone in and around the club to qualify there,” the Dane continues.

Who almost runs out of superlatives when he describes the months in the north.

“I had a fantastic time in Bodø. It has gone so fast. I’ve enjoyed every second. Both sportingly and the people I have met. You have become human, I have come to love very, very much of it. I leave Bodø as a very, very, very much better player. Being able to train with such a good team and such good players has meant that this opportunity has now come. It’s for sure that I’ve become a better player,” says Mathias Jørgensen.
