In a few days, the Danish youth team player Mikkel Bro Hansen will be 16 years old and is then allowed to become a professional player. The reigning Eliteserien champions have not been alone in wanting the youngster who is referred to as a very efficient and “adult” goalscorer.
Bodø/Glimt confirm that they have signed 15-year-old Mikkel Bro Hansen from Aarhus club AGF in fierce competition from Ajax and Borussia Dortmund, among others
It says a lot when Bodø/Glimt do not intend to send him down to age-specific teams, but they intend to put the U16 player straight into the first squad and let him fight for his place.
When asked by Avisa Nordland why he made that particular choice, Mikkel Bro Hansen answers this:
“It’s clearly because I’m going to be with the A-team. Then it’s an incredibly friendly club. A family club. Everyone knows everyone. I’ve been very well received down here, so the club has already proven to me that I’ve made the right choice.
Mikkel Bro Hansen is with the rest of Bodø/Glimt on a training camp in Spain. – On his own website, he tells us what we have to expect from him: “I am an attacker who is good in depth and combination play. I have a strong expertise in my finishing and a good eye for the game.”
