It will be very difficult for Darwin Núñez to claim that he does not choose to play desert football because of the money when we now find out what he will get in base salary.

The shocking financial package Darwin Núñez will receive at Al-Hilal has now been revealed, while Liverpool are making great progress with another big sale that will give the club significantly more leeway for new big signings.

The Reds have already broken their own record for the most expensive transfer window ever, with a whopping £265 million (€303 million) spent on six new players so far. While this is also the most in the Premier League so far, Liverpool’s £129 million (€148 million) revenue from player sales has left them with significant room for more reinforcements this summer.

Now the coffers will be filled further, with Harvey Elliott close to a move to RB Leipzig – more on that later.

Before that happens, Liverpool will also make a good profit from the sale of Núñez to Al-Hilal, after Fabrizio Romano on Wednesday night gave the transfer his classic “Here we go” stamp.

According to sources, Al-Hilal will pay €53 million (£46.2 million) in base amounts, plus bonuses that could take the total over £50 million (€57 million).

Núñez’s insane salary conditions in Saudi Arabia

Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg revealed the colossal salary the Uruguayan striker will earn over his three years in Saudi Arabia:

August 6 (7:53 p.m.):
“Darwin Núñez to Al-Hilal – AGREED! A full agreement has been reached with Liverpool. Núñez has also given the go-ahead. Contract until 2028. Medical test follows as soon as the paperwork is ready. Top salary. An important sale for Liverpool, who are still working on Alexander Isak and also want a top winger.”

August 7 (00:18):
*”Darwin Núñez will earn around *15 million euros net per year* at Al-Hilal – plus bonuses. Full agreement was reached between the clubs and with the player on Wednesday evening. Medical test and signing will follow as soon as possible. Contract until 2028.” *

In other words, Núñez will earn at least £252,000 a week – which amounts to almost £40 million (€46 million) in total until 2028.

Harvey Elliott next exit

Liverpool have already sold Tyler Morton to Lyon for £15 million, while Jarell Quansah, Caoimhín Kelleher and Luis Díaz have left the club this summer.

Now Elliott (22) is in advanced talks with RB Leipzig, after losing playing time under Arne Slot.

Plettenberg
reported: “Harvey Elliott and Leipzig are already in advanced discussions about personal terms. Leipzig want him, as revealed days ago. Concrete negotiations between the clubs are expected when a verbal agreement is in place. Loan with call option, bond or permanent transfer? Still open. Important: Elliott is willing to come.”

According to sources, Liverpool are open for sale in two ways:

  1. £40 million with buy-back clause in two years.
  2. £50 million with no right to return.

Liverpool updates: New Isaac shock; PSG star on the radar

Liverpool’s pursuit of Alexander Isak is now at a crossroads, after David Ornstein gave an ambiguous update that “the Newcastle chapter could be over”.

At the same time, the club is also keeping an eye on PSG winger Bradley Barcola, who was previously mentioned as a possible option.

One thing is clear: Liverpool are far from done in this transfer window.
