Newly knighted Beckham has played his cards right after he retired thirteen years ago. The English football icon secured an entrance to MLS with Inter Miami, not many years after the club’s founding, the world’s press writes every single week about Messi, Suarez and the other Inter Miami superstars. Beckham, unlike his former teammates at Man United, has been cautious about his old club, but when it comes to who the Red Devils need on the sidelines going forward, Becks has a strong opinion.

In an interview with talkSPORT , Beckham admitted that it has been a much better experience to watch his former club play, where the “calmness” Carrick has brought is the club’s greatest asset in the fight for Champions League qualification.

Beckham was asked about the transformation from Ruben Amorim’s United to under the former midfielder.

-Yes, I have to admit that the last few months have been much more calming than the last 10 years, to be honest. It’s been tough during that time, but I think Michael has the experience. I think he has a calmness about him that he has brought into the club. He knows the club. He knows the players. He knows how Man United play and how Man United should play,” Beckham begins.

-I have always liked Michael as a coach. When you look at him, there is a calm. It’s, on the side of the pitch, it’s, I don’t want to say elegance because I’m not sure if it’s the right thing to say, but there’s an elegance to the way he’s at, whether it’s the way he’s celebrating, or the way he gets angry,” Becks continues.

-You know, all these things are important in a manager. And I think the way he’s brought the team together has been incredible. And I think as a United supporter, that’s exactly what we needed,” Beckham said.

Which goes a long way in promoting Michael Carrick as the first choice to manage Manchester United from next season.
