The new deal that David de Gea has signed with Fiorentina shows that the Spanish goalkeeper “is back” and delivers between the sticks.
From being the highest-paid player at Manchester United when he was left in the summer of 2023 with an annual salary of €21,7 million plus bonuses, he signed after being unemployed for a year with Fiorentina on a deal worth €1,4 million a year plus bonuses.

David De Gea, 34, has signed a new contract with Fiorentina that runs until June 2028. This was confirmed by the Serie A club on Friday evening.
The former Manchester United goalkeeper has been linked with clubs such as Monaco and Bayern Munich, but it is now clear that De Gea will remain in Florence.
The 34-year-old was club-free for a full year after leaving United, as none of the offers he received were appealing enough. This season, De Gea kept eleven clean sheets in 42 games for Fiorentina.
