Every time a manager has been sacked since David Moyes had to leave West Ham in the summer, the English press has pointed to the Scot as a possible successor. Now we don’t have rumours about David Moyes for a while, because now he is back at Everton who he led with relative success for over a decade.

What success, you say? Everton are teetering on the relegation line and have struggled mightily since Carlo Ancelotti left Goodison Park to lead Real Madrid to the Champions League title. But that was a time before the chaos. David Moyes was behind continuity and solid positions in the Premier League.

David Moyes, who was manager of the Toffees from 2002 to 2013 before taking over for his compatriot Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United, is back at Everton.

Moyes led Everton for a total of 518 games in his first spell as the club’s manager.

Fully aware of the situation! – Everton are dangerously close to the relegation zone.

David Moyes said on Everton’s pages: “It’s great to be back! I enjoyed 11 fantastic and successful years at Everton and did not hesitate when I was offered the opportunity to rejoin this great club.

“I am delighted to be working with The Friedkin Group and I look forward to helping them rebuild the club.

“Now we need Goodison and all Evertonians to play their part in getting behind the players in this important season so we can move into our fantastic new stadium as a Premier League team.”

At Everton, he replaces Sean Dyche.
