The now 35-year-old coach Davide Ancelott has followed his famous manager father Carlo Ancelotti for well over ten years, first as a physio coach, but from his time at Bayern Munich in a role as assistant manager.

Now the two teams are parting, while dad Ancelotti becomes national team manager for Brazil, Davide Ancelotti is on his way to taking charge alone for a club.

Scottish club Rangers are now taking the initiative to hire Davide Ancelotti, while they pause the idea of bringing back Steven Gerrard.

Fichajes writes that Glasgow Rangers have taken a concrete step towards the future by contacting Davide Ancelotti with the intention of him taking over as head coach next season. The information, first revealed by Fabrizio Romano, confirms that the Scottish club has started discussions with the current assistant coach of Real Madrid. Davide is already considering starting his career as a manager after years in the shadow of his father, Carlo Ancelotti.

Although Davide is not the only candidate the Rangers management is considering, the interest in him is serious and concrete. The Real Madrid coach’s son is considering several options on the market, but Rangers’ project appears to be the one that fits best with his plans. Competing for national titles, participating in European tournaments and managing a team of great historical significance is appealing to a coach who has decided to leave the Spanish big club with his father when the season is over.

Rangers want to hire Davide Ancelotti

The young coach, who already has Premier League experience from his time at Everton, knows British football well and is positive about a return to the UK. Along the way, clubs such as Como (looking for a replacement for Cesc Fàbregas), RB Leipzig and Sevilla have also shown interest, but none of these have generated as much enthusiasm as the Scottish alternative.

With a self-imposed deadline for the international break period in June, Davide wants to make his decision calmly, with a focus on a competitive and stable environment. Glasgow is waiting optimistically, aware that bringing in a coach with elite experience and international expertise will be a force signal in the attempt to challenge Celtic and return Rangers to their lost throne.
