German international Florian Wirtz is on his way to Anfield, after Bayern Munich confirmed what he wanted.
The only thing that could make Bayer Leverkusen’s attacking midfielder Florian Wirtz stay in the Bundesliga was if his manager Xabi Alonso didn’t jump at the opportunity to lead his old club Real Madrid. Now a move to Liverpool is approaching, and he has already revealed what trait will lead him to England.

Liverpool are expected to sign the 22-year-old, after respected football correspondent David Ornstein revealed that Bayern Munich are not sure of beating Liverpool in the race for his signature.
According to reports, Wirtz has already been looking at houses in the northwest of England in preparation for a possible move.
Paul Joyce of The Times has later reported that such a deal could be in the offing:
Ambition and adventurousness drives Wirtz
If Bayern’s confession is correct, ambition and a desire for new challenges will be Wirtz’s motivation.

The young midfield star stated to Sports Illustrated in Germany in March that he wants to leave his comfort zone:
One of the world’s hottest talents under Xabi Alonso
Wirtz has become one of the world’s most sought-after talents under the guidance of former Liverpool player Xabi Alonso. Transfermarkt believes the attacking midfielder is worth €140 million.
He was a key player in Leverkusen’s historic unbeaten Bundesliga season and double win in 2023/24, and has followed that up with double-digit goals and assists this season.
Liverpool have done their homework and know that they are looking for a young player with the right mentality to compete at the top of the Premier League and Champions League.
Wirtz added:
Now what?
If the transfer goes well, Wirtz will be a marquee signing for Liverpool and a potential key player in Arne Slot’s new era. Bayern Munich’s admission that they do not feel like favourites in the race for him underlines how strong Liverpool are in the negotiations.
