Benjamin Sesko has been Arsenal’s first choice striker for at least a year. Now it’s all about Viktor Gyökeres. What happened? RB Leipzig tested the limits of the London club and hit the point of “we can’t defend this”.

Various English and German media have reported on Arsenal’s bid to bring Sesko to the Emirates, with the 22-year-old being seen as a better investment than the 27-year-old Gyökeres. Nevertheless, now the Sesko track has been abandoned, according to Sky Sports it was due to the steadfast position of the Bundesliga club not to move in the negotiations.

Sporting have not made it easy for Arsenal either, with the total sum coming in at around €80 million, but according to Sky Sports, RB Leizpig demanded €100 million for Sesko, and refused to budge. According to the media, this was what “scared away” Arsenal.

If Gyökeres himself delivers “only” half of the 54 goals he hammered in last season in the Sporting shirt, the Arsenal supporters will still not miss Sesko.
