When Turkish giants Galatasaray bought Victor Osimhen from Napoli, it was with a long-term partnership in mind and not, as many thought, the opportunity to exploit the Nigerian striker’s impossible relationship with Napoli owner Aurelio De Laurentiis. The 27-year-old, who at his peak was worth 120 million euros, set a Turkish record with a transfer worth 75 million euros.

Victor Osimhen, who has a contract until the summer of 2029, has settled in at Galatasaray and gets a large part of the credit for the club leading the Süper Lig with 9 points. – In recent weeks, several clubs have expressed their interest and with it information that there is a buyout clause in his contract.

Galatasaray president Dursun Özbek says that is not the case.

Victor Osimhen joined Galatasaray on a permanent deal from Napoli in the summer of 2025. Since then, rumors have abounded in several Italian media that the Nigerian attacker had a buyout clause written into the deal at the time, but that is not true.

This is what Galatasaray president Dursun Özbek tells the Turkish media Fanatik.

“There is no buy-out clause in Osimhen’s contract. He is an extremely successful footballer who will serve Galatasaray for many years,” says the president.

Galatasaray shattered the Turkish transfer record when they paid 75 million euros for Osimhen in the summer of 2025.

Although the amount is high, Dursun Özbek believes that the Turks actually made a small bargain.

“Maybe the amount was considered high on the day we signed him, but today the prevailing opinion in football circles is that the transfer fee was low, and the player’s value is much higher,” he states.

This season, the attacker has made 25 appearances for the club, scoring 17 goals and providing six assists.
