Christian Eriksen was considered one of the very best facilitators in the Premier League for many seasons at Tottenham. The Dane had 65 assists in 163 appearances for Ajax before he was brought to London. In the Spurs shirt, the central midfielder was second to last on the ball before scoring 88 times. Now the Danes have in place an heir, a 24-year-old only surpassed by Mo Salah.
First to Eriksen. At United, the Dane has also shown his brilliant assist passes (17 times), but unfortunately not often enough for United supporters. For the Danish national team, Mikkel Damsgaard has taken over this role in the Premier League. The 24-year-old signed for Brentford in 2022, the attacking midfielder has this season really cracked the code in the world’s toughest league.
In pure Eriksen style, Damsgaard has 10 assists so far this season, only Liverpool’s superstar Salah has done it sharper (16).
