Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen has a few weeks left on his contract with Manchester United.
Several clubs are reportedly keeping a close eye on the Dane’s situation, but even though he has been allowed to talk to clubs outside England since the new year, nothing concrete is yet.

Inter Milan, for whom Eriksen played until he suffered a cardiac arrest in the opening match for Denmark during the postponed European Football Championship in the summer of 2021, has applied for a rule change with the Italian Football Federation that it, like the rest of Europe, will be allowed to play professional football with a defibrillator implanted. So far, nothing has happened, so Italy is not possible for this summer at least.
If Inter Milan had really wanted a return, they could probably throw a few Euros in the direction of the Italian federation.
“I’ve prepared my head to find something new. I don’t know what it will be yet, but I’m free on the market, and I haven’t tried that before. I was free after the cardiac arrest, but it was a slightly different situation,” he said, according to the Danish website Bold a couple of weeks ago.

There could possibly be a return to Ajax, where Eriksen made his breakthrough on the international stage in the early 2010s.
Ajax director Marijn Beuker makes no secret of the fact that the club wants the player they sent to Tottenham in 2013 to spend a few final seasons with the club.
-A player like him is always a possibility, but it has to fit into the project and the salary structure. You also don’t want to block young players who are on the rise. Of course we are open to considering it, but it has to fit into the overall picture for the future,” the Ajax boss told ESPN. The club’s director of football, Marijn Beuker, confirms that Eriksen could be a potential transfer target for Ajax.
The door is open for Eriksen at Ajax, but assumes that the Dane lowers his salary expectations sharply, after years in the Premier League.
Eriksen left Ajax for Tottenham in 2013. Since then, he has played for Inter Milan, Brentford and most recently, since the summer of 2022, Manchester United.
