Liverpool signed Kostas Tsimikas in 2020 from Olympiakos for £11.75 million. The Greek international has mostly been what is so beautifully called a reliable backup to Andy Robertson. Last summer, Reds brought in Milos Kerkez, and suddenly there was no longer room for “the Greek Scouser”, at left-back. The trip went to Roma on loan, where it was expected that the Serie A club would be convinced to make a permanent transfer.

The lease agreement with Roma does not include a purchase clause, but a Roma transfer could be on the cards. Now it is reported that the Serie A club is unhappy with the deliveries to the Liverpool player.

The left-back has been on the pitch for 24 games so far this season, most of them as a substitute. According to transfer journalist Nicolo Scima, the Roma management is unhappy with Tsimikas’ performances and will send the 29-year-old back to Anfielid after the season.

With Andy Robertson confirmed to be done at the end of the season, a new opportunity could arise for Tsimikas, but more likely the Greek will have to prepare for a permanent exit or another loan spell. The decision will be made this summer. At Roma, no new doors are opened.
