Brazil have long tried to bring in Real Madrid, missing Carlo Ancelotti as national team manager. – But the Italian manager has chosen to stay in the Spanish capital.

UOL Esporte writes that after Brazil lost 4-1 at the Estadio Mâs Monumental to arch-rivals Argentina earlier in the week, information started to leak about the future of Dorival Junior.

After Brazil’s football association has had some thought, they have decided that Dorival Junior will be fired with immediate effect.

Dorival Junior took over the Brazilian national team at the beginning of 2024, but will now have to leave the position. Names that have been suggested as possible successors include Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti and Jorge Jesus, who currently manages Al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia. Marca has also stated that Pep Guardiola is on the Brazilian federation’s list of possible successors.

Brazil are in fourth place in the South American World Cup qualifiers, where they must finish in the top six to reach the World Cup in North America in 2026.
