It has been quite a journey for Eric Larsson in Lillestrøm, first a formidable downturn and crisis atmosphere replaced by hope and then promotion this season.
Eric Larsson will leave LSK after the season. “I feel very proud and grateful”

Now LSK announces that the parties are parting ways after this season, which has been brighter as the club is already ready for promotion to the Eliteserien.
“It didn’t turn out quite as I had imagined when I came here in April 2024. Both the team and I had a tough year with some minor injuries and a relegation,” Larsson says on the club’s website, and continues:
“But there is nothing bad that does not bring good. Playing in the OBOS league with a team of this calibre has been incredibly big, and the victory celebration in front of the Canary fans I will never forget. I feel very proud and grateful to have played for Lillestrøm and for all the committed supporters who have followed us both home and away.”
Now Larsson is looking forward to Saturday’s last league game against Stabæk at home at Åråsen Stadium, as well as the cup final against Sarpsborg on December 6.
“Now we have to win the last league game, and then finish with a victory in the cup final! To go a whole season without a loss would have been a perfect end to my time here.”
Sports director Simon Mesfin says to the club’s pages:
“Eric was brought in in a hurry after Lars Ranger suffered a long-term injury before last season. He had a tough period when Andreas Georgson left the club last summer, but Eric has worked his way back up and has contributed greatly throughout the season.”
He continues:
“The coaching staff values him highly, both for his professionalism and for how he has been a support for the young players in the squad.”
Larsson has played a total of 42 games for LSK. He has also played for Malmö FF, Gif Sundsvall, Gefle IF and OFI Crete.
