Mohamed Salah could return for Saturday’s Premier League game at home at Anfield against Brighton.

Several Liverpool players have liked Mohamed Salah’s Instagram post after the Egyptian was left out of Arne Slot’s squad against Inter Milan.

Liverpool secured a very welcome 1-0 win on Tuesday night in the Champions League to ease the pressure on manager Slot.

The victory comes just days after Salah gave a shocking interview in which he claimed to have been “run over by the club” and said he has no relationship with the manager.

Salah’s statements, which came just after the Reds drew 3-3 with Leeds, have been widely criticised. Liverpool legend and Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher even hinted that Salah was trying to get Slot sacked.

Despite training with the squad on Monday, Salah did not travel with the team to Milan. Instead, he posted a picture on Instagram of himself sitting in the gym at Liverpool’s AXA gym.

Since that photo without a caption was uploaded, several of his current teammates have reacted to it on Instagram. They include Alisson Becker, Milos Kerkez, Andy Robertson, Dominik Szoboszlai, Rhys Williams, and Kaide Gordon.

Several former Liverpool players have also engaged with the post, including Darwin Nunez, Jordan Henderson and Trent Alexander-Arnold. Harvey Elliott, who is currently on loan at Aston Villa, wrote, “We’re with you,” accompanied by crown and heart emojis.

Manchester City’s Erling Haaland and Real Madrid’s Kylian Mbappe also reacted to the post.

It currently has over 1.5 million likes and more than 80,000 comments.

Although Salah was left out of Liverpool’s squad for the Inter Milan game, Slot hinted that there is still a way back for the Egyptian, but that he needs to acknowledge that he has made a mistake.

Captain Virgil van Dijk explained that he will speak to his teammate, but noted that Salah will travel to the Afcon after this weekend’s game. It remains unclear whether Salah will be recalled for Saturday’s Premier League clash against Brighton & Hove Albion.

The Athletic’s David Ornstein reported that the decision to leave Salah out of Liverpool’s squad in Milan was “common sense” and that there will be no disciplinary action.

Ornstein added: “It’s described as a short-term measure, so it’s possible he could come back into consideration for the line-up against Brighton…”

“This was a decision made by the club, not by Arne Slot.”

If Salah is excluded from Saturday’s matchday, it is possible that he has already played his last game for the club.

After the weekend, he will travel to Morocco to represent Egypt in the Africa Cup of Nations.

Salah will remain with Egypt at least until December 29, when they play their third group game.

But it can be extended until January 18 if they reach the final, and at that time, the transfer window will be open.
