The Manchester City striker is currently under contract with the Premier League club until June 2034.
Erling Haaland has already given his thoughts on a potential move to Real Madrid, amid links to a move worth €500 million to the La Liga giants.

Haaland is one of Europe’s most high-profile goalscorers and has scored 287 goals in 362 professional games in his club career, with spells at Molde, Bryne, Red Bull Salzburg, Borussia Dortmund and Manchester City.
His goalscorer earned him a lucrative contract worth an opposing £500,000 a week before bonuses at City, which he signed in January 2024 and which binds him to the Etihad until June 2034.
By then, Haaland will be 34 years old and probably past his peak form. Most City supporters hope that the Norwegian international completes the duration of his contract.
But according to Sky Germany, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is eager to bring the striker to the Santiago Bernabéu in what would be a world record deal. Perez reportedly “dreams” of signing Haaland in the summer of 2026 and is still in contact with the player’s representatives and agent, Rafaela Pimenta.

The channel reports that Haaland sees playing for Real as a “career goal”, but a potential deal could prove complex and costly for the 15-time European champions. Sky Germany claim that Vinícius Júnior must leave the club before Real can afford a transfer fee of over €500 million, including wages and bonuses, to secure Haaland’s services.
The 25-year-old was previously the subject of interest from Madrid back in 2022, when he played for Borussia Dortmund, but he opted for a move to the Premier League and went to City.
But has or could Haaland’s mind change given the recent interest from the La Liga club, and what has he said about a move to Real in the past?
Back in March 2024, before City’s 3-1 win over Copenhagen in the Champions League quarter-finals, Haaland was asked about a potential transfer to the Spanish capital.
“Real Madrid? You never know what the future may bring,” said the Norwegian.
Then, in January 2025, he was asked about the topic again after his father, Alf Inge, hinted that he wanted to see his son play in all of Europe’s top leagues for a period of two or three years when Erling left for City in 2022.
“I just signed a nine-and-a-half-year deal, so what do you want me to say?” snarled Haaland back.
“… I’m super happy with my choice and I’m looking forward to spending many years in Manchester and that’s really it.”
Fast forward to December 2025, and after City’s 2-1 win in the Champions League league phase at the Santiago Bernabéu, Haaland described the stadium as “incredible”.
“It’s a nice place to play. Look at this place, it’s incredible,” he explained. “These are the games we want to play. In this format, we get to play more matches, which is nice. And I like it.”
