With the exception of a glimmer of light when Carlo Ancelotti was manager, Everton supporters have gone into a football darkness surrounded by poor sporting results, relegation battles, constant change of coaches, financial chaos and points deductions. New Everton owner Friedkin Group has shown as a Roma owner that they do not hesitate to sack managers, but with David Moyes, a long-term course has now been set.

Moyes is one of the great coaches in club history. Before the Scot was persuaded to take over for Alex Ferguson at Manchester United, he had managed Everton for a full 11 years – with success. Now Moyes is back.

Although there was a sour FA Cup defeat to Bournemouth at Goodison Park on Saturday, Moyes has given Everton players confidence and supporters hope.

Now, Football Insider’s sources report that David Moyes is the driving force behind a new plan in the transfer market, which the Scot has had success with in the past. The new plan is to bring young talents to the club and develop them into stars in the starting eleven, with time to develop. This will make the club’s finances more stable, where players will be signed reasonably and sold at a large profit.

This sounds like a real American strategy with “buy cheap, sell big”, the question is whether a bunch of youngsters can meet the level of the world’s toughest league. With David Moyes at the helm, this is possible. The Scotsman has extensive experience in giving younger players confidence and the opportunity to develop.

Then we hope Moyes gets the same trust and patience from the owners, without Moyes the new plan is no longer big, but very risky. Relegation from the Premier League has been on the trail for Everton for far too many seasons.
