After almost three months without Premier League football, Liverpool and Bournemouth have the honour of kicking off the new season at Anfield on Friday night.
Liverpool go for history
The Reds have one clear task in the 2025/26 season: to win two league titles in a row for the first time since the old First Division era and thus surpass Manchester United in the list of most English championships. Bournemouth, who have lost several defenders, could also have European dreams.
