Last season, Cesc Fabregas helped lead Como as an assistant back to Serie A. This summer, the Spanish legend took over the responsibility, with big stars choosing to move to Como to play for Fabregas. Rafael Varane went directly from Manchester United to Como, but already realized in August that his legs are no longer able to hold up and retired. Now another former Manchester United giant is on his way to idyllic Lake Como.

Italian Sky Sports reports Fabregas has contacted a former teammate at Chelsea with an invitation to fight for survival in Serie A. Nemanja Matic and Fabregas played together at Stamford Bridge, 2024-17, now the former Serbian international is heavily linked to Como.

Matic left Rennes for Lyon in January 2024, now the former Manchester United star (189 games) is said to be open to assisting Fabregas. Then the financial part remains.

Como still balances on the relegation line with 18 points from 18 games, Matic should provide the necessary boost in midfield to climb the table.
