Dele Alli. The name brings back fond memories with Tottenham supporters when the attacking midfielder was part of Mauricio Pochettino’s attacking machine. Then everything came to a standstill three or four years ago and Alli has been England’s most high-profile player without playing time. Now, a former Premier League star has opened the door for the 28-year-old.

Alli has been without a club since the summer, before this there were two seasons with a total of 13 games in an Everton shirt and 15 on loan at Besiktas. Earlier this month, several Italian media reported that the former England international would train with Como, Cesc Fabregas now confirms that Alli is part of the Serie A club’s training.

-Dele is currently training with us. He’s doing well. He is an absolutely fantastic football player. If we can help him, we’re more than happy to do it, but for now he’s just training along,” Fabregas said.

Como were promoted last season, now Fabregas and the club are one point above the relegation zone. Then it is impressive that they use resources to give Dele Alli the opportunity to play his way back to the “football age”.
