It was almost like watching a handball match in terms of the number of goals when Alexander Sørloth knocked in all four goals in the match between Atlético Madrid and the old club of the Trøndelag striker Real Sociedad.

For once, manager Diego Simeone chose to start with his super reserve and already after seven minutes he got paid.

Alexander Sørloth scored the earliest hat-trick in La Liga history.

We at Sporten.com have been saying it all along, and now the slightly slow manager has finally started to listen… Alexander Sørloth needs to start games. Just the sight of a 195 cm tall Norwegian Viking scares the wits out of most defenders. (They don’t know he’s kind as a lamb)

It didn’t stop with the one goal, Alexander Sørloth scored four goals – in 30 minutes: “Outstanding”

Atlético Madrid hosted Real Sociedad at the Estádio Cívitas Metropolitano tonight and secured 3rd place in La Liga.

It is not enough with a sword or a throne when Atlético Madrid are to describe Alexander Sørloth, they need a hammer, lightning and probably thunder and a superhero costume.

Alexander Sørloth is soaring up La Liga’s top scorers list and is now in 4th place with 17 goals. – And even more impressive, he is the only one who has more than one goal per game. 1.1 to be exact, which gives one goal per 82 minutes. – Second best is top scorer Robert Lewandowski who has one goal per 98 minutes.

Hat-trick in five minutes.

Tonight, Alexander Sørloth delivered one of the most impressive football matches I have seen. First a goal in the seventh minute, then recharge a little and three minutes later another eel and then in the eleventh minute 3-0. A hat-trick before Real Sociedad pulled to blink.

It didn’t stop there, In the 30th minute, Sørloth got the ball in the attacking area and put in 4-0 at the near post.

Even the Swedes went off the rails TV4 commentator Christopher Kviborg who would have eaten his hat if he had had a hat said: “He scores goal number four, damn! He scores on everything that moves! An outstanding performance by Sørloth. If I had owned a hat, I would have taken it off now. It’s almost as if you don’t believe it’s true if he scores another goal before halftime… then I’ll go home”

Real Sociedad thought it was getting embarrassing and after 4 – 0 set up what can best be described as flood protection: five men in defence and the rest in a kind of defensive midfield position.

Sørloth has now delivered 21 goals in 47 games this season, and when he was substituted in Saturday’s game after 74 minutes, he received a standing ovation from the home crowd.

With the victory, Atlético reinforce their third place in La Liga. The gap to league leader Barcelona is nine points, and it is the same margin down to Athletic Bilbao, with three rounds left to play.

From the opening whistle, the Norwegian striker needed only 10 minutes and 46 seconds to complete this feat, although the time interval between his first goal (minute 7) and his third (minute 11) was only 3 minutes and 57 seconds.

Journalist Alexis Martín-Tamayo (MisterChip) revealed the figure, while Pedro Martín noted that it is the fastest hat trick in the competition in the 21st century, surpassing the 4:44 required by Atletico colleague Kevin Gameiro against Real Sporting in the 2016/17 season.

Both also claim that with Sørloth’s fourth goal in the 30th minute, the Nordic striker also achieved the second-fastest four-goal statistic in LaLiga, after Mundos in 20 minutes in a Valencia-Real Sociedad match in 1941.
