A little over a year ago, Sindre Walle Egeli made his debut for the Danish big club FC Nordsjælland.

Now Ligue 1 club Lille has contacted them, as have several others, that the 18-year-old Norwegian left winger is already delivering at a high level, with the promise of much more in the future.

L’Équipe is interested in the French Ligue 1 club, but the transfer will not be cheap – FC Nordsjælland will demand around 15 million euros for their Norwegian star.

Lille finished 5th in Ligue 1 this season and will need to step up their attack, with more players on their way out to achieve the ultimate goal of playing in the Champions League.

TV 2’s football expert Simen Stamsø-Møller believes the club is an ideal intermediate station for young talents:

Egeli – a monster potential at the Sørloth level

The 18-year-old Norwegian had a fantastic debut season for Nordsjælland’s first team with 9 goals and 8 assists – and has already made his first team debut for Norway (against Kazakhstan in September 2024).

Stamsø-Møller praises Egeli:

Why is the price tag so high?

  • Young age, great talent: Egeli is only 18 and has already shown class in Denmark.
  • Modern market: Clubs pay for potential, not just the current level.
  • Lille can afford it: They have sold players for large sums of money in the past (such as Victor Osimhen and Jonathan David).

Road to the top

Egeli went from Sandefjord to Nordsjælland in 2022, first playing for the U19 team, but quickly established himself in the first team. A move to Lille could be the next logical step towards top football in Europe.
