Chiesa joined from Juventus in the summer of 2024, but has never secured a regular place in the starting line-up for Arne Slots Liverpool.

The Italian international has appeared in 16 of a possible 22 Premier League games this season, but only one of those from the start. The other 15 have been substitutes from the bench.

And with Italy still able to qualify for the 2026 World Cup if they make it through the play-offs in March, the winger will likely need regular game time to stand a chance of being named in Gennaro Gattuso’s squad.

A report from Italian website Calcio Mercato claims that Juventus are interested in the player, as they aim for reinforcements to strengthen their chances of securing Champions League qualification. The team is currently in fifth place in Serie A.

Juventus, on the other hand, want a loan with an option to buy at the end of the 2025/26 season.

The Reds estimate the 28-year-old player to be worth between £13 million and £17 million. In order to strike a deal, the winger is reportedly willing to take a pay cut from his annual salary of £6.5 million.

However, conflicting reports from Italy have suggested that Juventus have turned their attention to potentially signing Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta, as well as Atalanta’s Daniel Maldini.

La Gazzetta dello Sport claims that “Juventus are negotiating with Crystal Palace on a deal worth €33 million, including a loan with a mandatory purchase option if they qualify for European Cup play.”

The report added, “Before a deal is in place, which is possible but not yet a given, there is another problem that needs to be addressed: the significant commissions charged by agents. This obstacle is not insurmountable on paper, but neither is it a formality based on what appears.”

Chiesa, who is currently under contract with Liverpool through 2028, previously had success with Juventus between 2020 and 2024, a period during which he helped the team win the Coppa Italia twice.
