Fernandes has two years left on his current contract with Man Utd, and Ruben Amorim has insisted that he has no plans to let the Portuguese star leave this summer.
However, a transfer deal involving Valverde and Fernandes could be possible according to recent reports, and Man Utd are unlikely to have the financial space to sign the Uruguayan unless at least one key player is sold.
