After great success at Arsenal, things didn’t quite work out for “Ox” at Liverpool. The fierce midfielder never quite found his role with Klopp, and repeated injury breaks didn’t make it any easier either. Then Besiktas wanted a Premier League player to brag about, it was never a good match. For more than half a year, the 32-year-old has been looking for a new club that makes sporting and financial sense, last week it worked out, already on Wednesday he played the main role.
Since last autumn, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has been training with Arsenal’s U21 team. The 32-year-old has been looking for a club since the summer, when Besiktas pushed the former Arsenal and Liverpool player out of the club. In January, “Ox” has been used in the first team training. Then Oxlade-Chamberlain was introduced last week as a new Celtic player.

We called it a club and league perfect for the high-speed freight train of a player. 78 minutes into the game against Livingston, the 32-year-old got his debut from coach Martin O’Neill at 1-1. In injury time, “Ox” put in a delicious goal from the edge of the field into the opposite corner of the goal – 2-1 and the match-winning score on the Englishman.
“So we drive and drive and drive, and maybe it looked like it wasn’t going to happen (the 2-1 score), but then Alex scores a fantastic goal, a fantastic goal from a very special player, and even though it came late, it was fantastic for us to win,” head coach Martin O’Neill told Celtic TV.

The goal of “Ox” and victory has sent Celtic into contact with Hearts at the top, only six points behind.
