The former Ajax coach put pressure on the United management to bring in more of his favourite players from Ajax. So when one of Slots Feyenoord players is linked to Liverpool, there is no reason to fear the “Ten Hag trap” at Anfield.
On Wednesday, Igor Paixao sent in the match-winning goal for Feyenoord against AC Milan in the Champions League. The Brazilian was brought to the Eredivisie club by Slot, the left winger stands since 2022 with 114 games, 29 goals and 24 assists. This season, things have really loosened up for the 24-year-old, with 8 of his goals and 14 assists coming in the last 32 games.
According to the BBC, Liverpool have sent signals they are interested in the Brazilian winger, where 35 million euros should be enough to bring the 24-year-old to Anfield.
If this happens, it will be with a completely different starting point than when Ten Hag directed United to a bunch of expensive missignings.
