Liverpool’s monumental squad upheaval continues at a rapid pace, with reports revealing that five more players could be sold in permanent transfers this month.
A lot has been said about Liverpool’s spending this summer, but the important thing to remember is that they are making significant sums of money from player sales.

According to The Athletic, Liverpool’s total payouts have so far reached £252 million. While this is the highest amount in the Premier League – and could be even higher if Alexander Isak is signed – they have already recouped £114.5 million from player sales.
This means that Liverpool’s net spending as of now is £137.5 million. In comparison, Arsenal have the highest net spending this summer at £185.7 million.
Isak is still a target for Liverpool, and Newcastle could open up a sale if they manage to persuade Benjamin Šeško to choose them over Manchester United.
To finance what will undoubtedly be a British record transfer for Isak, more departures are on the horizon at Anfield. The first to leave the club will be homegrown midfielder Tyler Morton.
The 22-year-old will bring Liverpool £15 million, and as an academy player, this sum will be recorded as “pure profit” in the club’s accounts.
According to The Athletic, Morton’s transfer to Lyon is “on the verge” of being completed.
An update from Ben Jacobs on social media revealed that Morton will complete the second part of his medical test today (Tuesday).

Four more departures after Morton?
The exodus doesn’t stop there. The report mentions Kostas Tsimikas, Ben Doak, Federico Chiesa and Darwin Núñez as players who could be next.
Tsimikas is reportedly considering leaving the club due to expected reduced playing time. Miloš Kerkez has been brought in to become the new first-team left-back, with Andy Robertson as a backup.
As the third choice in his position, Tsimikas is aware that he will get limited playing time if he stays.
Liverpool have received a lot of interest from several clubs for Ben Doak, but according to the report, the interest has so far been focused on loans, while Liverpool prefer a permanent sale.
Just like with Morton, Caoimhín Kelleher, Jarell Quansah and (Trent Alexander-Arnold) in the past, any sale of Doak would be “pure profit” for Liverpool.
Federico Chiesa could be the subject of a bidding war between top Italian clubs. Both Napoli and Atalanta are ready to make offers.
Darwin Núñez, on the other hand, will generate the largest transfer fee of the five. Al-Hilal are willing to pay 70 million euros (£61 million) for the Uruguayan.
Earlier on Tuesday morning, Fabrizio Romano stated on YouTube that a deal between Liverpool and Al-Hilal would not be a problem.
The only obstacle is whether Al-Hilal can persuade Núñez to give up European football and move to the Saudi professional league.
AC Milan have approached Núñez, but according to The Athletic, they are unable to match the sums Liverpool will accept.
Moreover, Al-Hilal has now intensified talks with Núñez on personal terms to speed up the process and eliminate the threat from European clubs.
summary:
- Tyler Morton is close to a £15m move to Lyon
- Kostas Tsimikas, Ben Doak, Federico Chiesa and Darwin Núñez could be next.
- Al-Hilal are ready to pay £61 million for Núñez – but must persuade him.
- Liverpool want permanent sales to fund new signings, including Alexander Isak.
