Manchester United are in dire need of a major player overhaul, as Ruben Amorim has taken over a squad that clearly doesn’t suit his style of play.
A new striker is urgently needed, and it is also likely that United will be chasing a new midfielder when the transfer window opens.

But before they can bring in new reinforcements, they will probably have to sell more players to raise the necessary funds.
Below we go through five players who could leave Old Trafford this summer.
1. Marcus Rashford
Unless Amorim is sacked before the transfer window, Marcus Rashford is almost guaranteed to leave United in 2025.
The Englishman was frozen out by Amorim in December and was loaned to Aston Villa in January, following significant interest from Barcelona.
Rashford has been linked with several top clubs in recent years, and it is expected that he will finally leave United on a permanent basis this summer.

2.
Just like Rashford, Antony is also on his way out after a loan spell at Real Betis.
The Brazilian impressed in La Liga, but it is unlikely that he will work his way back into United’s plans. His nightmarish spell at Manchester is now over, even though the club will lose significantly from a sale – they paid a whopping €95 million for him in 2022.
3. Alejandro Garnacho
Alejandro Garnacho has been a fixture at Old Trafford for the past two years, but United may be forced to sell him due to financial constraints.
Although he came from Atlético Madrid’s academy, he is considered a “homegrown” player, which means that a sale would count as pure profit for the club.
Chelsea and Napoli were heavily interested in January, and both could rekindle their interest this summer.
4. Christian Eriksen
Christian Eriksen is all but guaranteed to leave United when his contract expires in June.
The Danish legend was important in his first season but has lost influence in the last two years. A contract extension is extremely unlikely, and his three years at the club seem to be coming to an end.
5. Joshua Zirkzee
Joshua Zirkzee arrived at United with high expectations after a strong season at Bologna, but has not been able to replicate his form in the Premier League.
The Dutchman has struggled to adapt to the intensity of the league and could be sacrificed in the search for a new striker. Although Zirkzee reportedly wants to prove himself in Manchester, United may have other plans.
What now for United?
Selling these players can free up both salary money and transfer funds, which is crucial for Amorim’s rebuilding project. But it will be a challenge to replace them without exacerbating the already thin squad.
