Paris Saint-Germain have changed their strategy under manager Luis Enrique, they have created a squad that is far less dependent on individuals than in previous seasons.

  1. Superstars such as Kylian Mbappe, Lionel Messi and Neymar have made way for talented youngsters, and they have been shaped into a set of players capable of achieving the ultimate goal… win the Champions League. – How strong we saw clearly when they sent Liverpool out of the Champions League in the last eight. Aston Villa will have something to contend with when they turn up at the Parc des Princes for the first quarter-final on April 9.

However, Paris Saint Germain is still incredibly bloated and will also try to do something about that this summer.

Randal Kolo Muani
PSG paid a whopping €95 million to sign Randal Kolo Muani in 2023, but his move to the Parc des Princes hasn’t worked out at all.

He managed just nine goals across all competitions in his first season at the club, and after falling out of favour under Luis Enrique, the French striker joined Juventus on loan in January 2025.

Juventus are already eager to make the deal permanent, and Kolo Muani’s time at PSG is set to come to an end after two underwhelming years.

Goncalo Ramos
Goncalo Ramos has been a fairly reliable goalscorer since joining PSG, although he is certainly not a regular starter under Luis Enrique.

The Portuguese forward could therefore push for a summer exit, and since PSG have been linked with a number of strikers in recent months, including Viktor Gyokeres, Victor Osimhen and Alexander Isak, they may have to sell Ramos.

Ramos has been a decent signing for PSG, although an exit feels somewhat inevitable in the near future.

Gianluigi Donnarumma
Gianluigi Donnarumma was the hero during PSG’s penalty shootout win over Liverpool in the Champions League last-16, but he is certainly in danger of being sold this summer.

The Italy international is no longer the safe presence that helped his country to Euro 2020 glory, and while penalty prowess remains high, he has made far too many goalkeeping mistakes this season.

Furthermore, he is extremely poor in possession and given Enrique’s desire for an adequate ball-playing goalkeeper, Donnarumma could be relieved before the 2025-26 season.

Marco Asensio
After failing to establish himself as a regular starter at PSG, Marco Asensio secured a loan move to Aston Villa in January and he is expected to leave the Parisians on a permanent deal after the end of the season.

Has flourished in the Premier League.

Despite his tremendous form at Aston Villa, Asensio is unlikely to work his way back into the fold at PSG due to competition from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Ousmane Dembele, Bradley Barcola and Desire Doue.

As a result, a permanent exit this summer is on the cards and Villa have been tipped to pursue a deal.

Lucas Hernandez
Lucas Hernandez suffered an ACL injury in May 2024, and he has struggled to work his way back into action amid significant competition for spots.

Nuno Mendes has established himself as PSG’s best left-back, while Willian Pacho and Lucas Beraldo are both left-footed centre-back options.

Hernandez has therefore failed to break into the starting 1 since returning from injury, and while PSG want to keep him as a rotation option, he could push for an exit to improve his chances of being included in France’s squad for the 2026 World Cup.
