Tottenham Hotspur have been reluctant to spend more money than before in the transfer market in recent years, and this trend could continue in 2025.
Ange Postecoglou’s side need more reinforcements, but Daniel Levy will probably have to resort to his wallet to fund such signings.
As a result, Spurs may have to sell more first-team players to raise money for new players, despite winning the Europa League and thus qualifying for the Champions League.

Heung-min Son
Heung-min Son signed a contract extension with Tottenham in January, tying him to the club until 2026, but an early departure is still a possibility.
The Spurs captain has experienced a noticeable decline in his performance levels this year, and he has been linked with a summer departure due to interest from several clubs around the world.
Son remains a crowd favourite and a sale this year remains unlikely, but his long-term future at Tottenham is far from guaranteed.

Richarlison
Richarlison seems determined to leave Spurs in the upcoming summer transfer window after losing his place in the starting line-up to Dominic Solanke.
The Brazilian attacker was signed for a whopping €58 million from Everton in 2022, but he is no longer a guaranteed starter and reportedly wants a move away this year.
A move to the Saudi Pro League has been mentioned, and Richarlison’s time at Tottenham is expected to end soon.
Sergio Reguilón
After loan spells at Atlético Madrid, Manchester United and Brentford, Sergio Reguilón is finally expected to leave Tottenham on a permanent deal this summer.
The Spaniard will become a free agent in July, and several Turkish Super Lig clubs have been mentioned as possible candidates for a Bosman deal when the transfer window opens.
At a price of €30 million, Reguilón has been an exceptionally poor signing and Spurs will be happy to remove his salary from their payroll next season.
Ben Davies
Ben Davies has been a stalwart contributor for Tottenham since joining from Swansea in 2014, and he will be remembered as a quiet but successful signing.
But his contract expires this summer and despite rumours of an extension, Davies is currently expected to leave Spurs on a free transfer.
The north London club could offer him a new deal until 2026, but Davies is one of the most likely candidates to leave Tottenham this year.
Bryan Gil
Bryan Gil was brought to Tottenham from Sevilla in 2021, but has since been on loan to Spain three times, and a permanent return to La Liga is expected this summer.
Gil is currently on loan at Girona, and they reportedly have a €15 million option to buy at the end of the 2024/25 season.
Gil has not been able to play his way into Spurs’ starting line-up under several different managers, and a departure is almost guaranteed this summer. His current contract in north London expires in 2026.
