There are two clubs Philip Zinckernagel has really come “home”: Bodø/Glimt and now Chicago Fire. Two very different leagues, clubs and surroundings, but on the grass the Dane has working conditions he loves. On Saturday, another important goal came from the 30-year-old in MLS.
The Chicago Fire took on New England and got the game off to a flying start. Zinckernagel safely scored 2-0 after only ten minutes, the lead that gave a 3-2 victory. With this, the Dane is up to 12 goals in 26 MLS games.

The selection of the prestigious All-Star team has also helped give Zinckernabel the status of one of the biggest profiles in MLS – in his debut season. Striker legend Luis Suarez has only 6 goals in 22 MLS games in an Inter Miami shirt with Messi as a facilitator. We’re just mentioning it.
Back in July, American journalist Alex Calabrese described the former Glimt star’s entry into MLS:
“One of the biggest changes European players coming to MLS will have to go through is the incredible travel load teams are experiencing. While Zinckernagel is no stranger to using flights to domestic away games – Bodø/Glimt are north of the Arctic Circle and fly to every away game – the distances in MLS are far, far greater.”

“Zinckernagel has not only been good away from home, but he has also flourished. In fact, he’s hit one of the best runs ever by a player on the road in MLS history.”
