The signals out from Lerkendal this winter are strong, so we in Sporten.com believe that the Trondheim club will top 7th place from the 2025 season. Today, Rosenborg confirms that they have secured Swedish goalkeeper Leopold Wahlstedt (26) from Danish AGF.
The 26-year-old is already in place at Rosenborg’s training camp in Portugal and trains with the team during the first football training session of the stay on Sunday morning. – The club and the player have agreed on a four-year contract.

Wahlstedt will replace the 23-year-old Trondheim goalkeeper Sander Tangvik, who recently became ready for Hamburger SV in the German Bundesliga.
“When I heard about Rosenborg’s interest, I immediately got a very good feeling. Rosenborg showed a great commitment to get me to the club, and that means a lot as a player, says the goalkeeper in a statement to RBK.
The 26-year-old Swede was brought to AGF before the 2024/25 season, but has mostly been second choice in the goalkeeper position.
Wahlstedt played for Odd in the Eliteserien from 2021 to 2023, before being sold to Blackburn Rovers in the English Championship.
Sporting director Alfred Finnbogason is happy to be able to strengthen the goalkeeper team shortly after Sander Tangvik’s departure.
- He is a player with a good reputation in Norway after having performed well in the Eliteserien. Now he was available on the market and it has been a process for quite a while to be ahead in case we lost Sander. Leopold was our first choice, so we are very happy that he chose to sign for us
“I have very good memories from Norway and the Eliteserien, and remember how fantastic the atmosphere can be at Lerkendal,” says Wahlstedt.
