“The EFL takes note of the decision of the Independent Disciplinary Commission, established in accordance with Premier League rules, which has determined that Leicester City FC has breached the rules of profit and sustainability during the three-year accounting period up to and including the 2023/24 season. After taking into account all relevant factors, the Commission has recommended a deduction of six points. The EFL’s board has considered the decision and decided that the penalty should have immediate effect in the Championship table, writes The English Football League in a press release.
The points penalty means Leicester drop several places in the table, where they are now just above the relegation line – simply because of a better goal score.
