It’s starting to be a few years since Marti Cifuentes led the Sandefjord squad, but for us, the Spaniard will be a former elite league coach forever and ever. On January 25, Cifuentes was sacked at Leicester after 11 defeats in 29 league games, now the former QPR manager is in the race for a new job that could get him straight back to the Championship.

According to Football-Insider , Watford have Cifuentes on their list of candidates after Javi Gracia stepped down as head coach on Sunday. This left the club management “sad and disappointed”, but respected his decision. Gracia felt that he was no longer the right coach to motivate the squad after just one win in the last five games.

Cifuentes apparently doesn’t need a holiday, according to Football-Insider’s sources, the former Premier League coach is No. 2 on Watford’s wish list, with former Southampton coach Will Still being the early favorite to take over at Vicarage Road.
