Neves’ contract expires in the summer, but the 28-year-old wants to return in January. According to the English newspaper, the Saudis believe they can bring in £18m, but it is expected that the buying club is in a position to sign for good below that, six months before Neves walks out as a free agent.
The Times reports Manchester United is a natural next club. Given his profile, Neves could get straight into the first team next month – a “plug and play” transfer option, to use United’s own language.
