There is now a lot of talk about points deductions of between 50 and 60 points for the Sky Blues even before this year’s season ends. – In addition to manager Pep Guardiola, who has said he is done on the day Manchester City are convicted of something illegal, a number of players will leave the club.
Manchester City are facing 115 charges for alleged breaches of the Premier League’s financial rules.

Over three years have passed since the league announced that it is indicting the “Light Blues” for violating a number of rules related to alleged irregularities over a nine-year period between 2009 and 2018.
If found guilty, Manchester City, who have consistently denied financial irregularities, face a series of sanctions from the league, including being banned from England’s top division or being stripped of titles.
However, football economics expert Kieran Maguire has hinted at a record-breaking points haul, predicting that Pep Guardiola’s side could be stripped of a whopping 60 points.
If Man City were to be charged a points deduction of 60 points, the club could experience a sell-off, with some of their best players looking to leave.
Who could potentially consider leaving the Etihad if Man City are found guilty? Well, SPORTbible takes a look at four players who can leave and where they might end up.
Erling Haaland
Erling Haaland is arguably Man City’s biggest star given his extremely prolific goalscoring form since joining the club from Borussia Dortmund.
Although Haaland has a contract that runs until 2034, he has been linked with a move to Barcelona and Real Madrid, both of whom believe his contract contains a buyout clause that could allow him to play in La Liga at some point in the future.
We could easily see that transition becoming a reality. The Norwegian would serve as a long-term replacement for Robert Lewandowski at Barca, or be a partner with Kylian Mbappe at Real.
Phil Foden
The thought of Phil Foden playing for a club other than Man City is strange, given that he has played his entire professional career at his childhood club after coming up through their youth academy.
We imagine him signing for another English team and reuniting with Mikel Arteta at Arsenal, after the time they spent together at Man City. It is a transfer that has already been talked about.
Rodri
Like Haaland, Rodri’s name has always been closely associated with Real in the rumour mill, following his impressive performances for Man City, which culminated in Ballon d’Or glory in 2024.
A move to the Bernabeu would finally become a reality, and the Spanish giants would finally have their successor to Toni Kroos.
Gianluigi Donnarumma
Gianluigi Donnarumma is only in his first season at Man City, but a change of club could be on the cards if Man City are found guilty.
Despite his status as one of the world’s best goalkeepers, we think he will leave Europe for the Middle East to secure a big contract from a club in the Saudi Arabian league.
