Antwerp FC has decided to part ways with Butez, who served as their longstanding first-choice keeper and played a crucial role in their recent achievements, including securing the national title and the Belgian Cup.
Butez had successfully completed his medical tests and had signed a contract with Como that extends until June 2028.

Como’s head coach is the legendary Cesc Fàbregas. After 18 rounds, Como sits in 16th place in Serie A.
Cesc Fàbregas commented on the signing: “Jean’s solidity and leadership are qualities that will greatly benefit our team. His experience makes him a valuable asset as we strengthen our squad.”
Commenting on his signing, Jean said: “I am very happy to join Como 1907. For me, it is a dream to come and play in Italy. After playing for several years in Belgium and winning a historic double with my previous club Royal Antwerp, I feel that joining this historic club is a big step forward for me. I had an excellent exchange with Marc-Jan Fledderus and coach Cesc Fàbregas. It is a project that I see myself in the next few years. I am also very happy to be able to discover such a beautiful part of Italy with my family, my wife and two children aged one and three. I can’t wait to get to know the team and the fans and I think it will be a great adventure together.”
