When Liverpool and Klopp brought in Waturo Endo midway through August 2023, the club had been chasing several other midfield options. The defensive midfielder nevertheless convinced from the start, in December the Japanese player was named Liverpool’s Player of the Month. In the League Cup final against Chelsea, the 32-year-old was on the pitch for 120 minutes and was able to lift his first title. With Klopp out, there has been a shred of playing time and Endo is linked to a new club.
Arne Slot has had the 32-year-old on the pitch for 26 games so far in the season, but 742 minutes spread over these games tells of a meagre playing season for Endo. According to Bild, the Japanese could be on his way back to the Bundesliga this summer.

Endo made 133 appearances for Stuttgart until his move to Anfield, and according to the German media, Eintracht Frankfurt have shown their keen interest in what they see as an experienced midfield leader ahead of the upcoming season.
With former Brighton player Mahmoud Dahoud on his way out after a season without convincing, it opens up for Endo.
