“Remember when you broke into the first team, how you felt, how happy you were, how you loved playing for Manchester United, how you celebrated goals, how you were the hardest worker on the pitch? You’re 27, before you know it, you’ll be in your 30s. Do you want to go down the [Jesse] Lingard route?” This is the message Marcus Rashford now gets after Ruben Amorim has taken over the reins at Old Trafford.
Jesse Lingard was the super talent in the academy at Manchester United, who at the age of 31 plays in the South Korean league. Rich enough, but the last few years have been a continuous sporting downturn for Lingard. Former Aston Villa captain Gabby Agbonlahor draws parallels from Lingard to what is happening with Rashford.

“[Arorim] comes to United to succeed, he hasn’t come in to just pick players who have been there for a while. If you are not up and running, some of these players have six months until the summer window. If you’re not up and running, you’re gone… There is probably no room for both Garnacho and Rashford. When you look at a 3-4-3, you would probably say Garnacho, [Rasmus] Hojlund, and maybe an Amad [Diallo] that you would choose,” Agbonlahor told TalkSport.

When asked if Rashford is done at Manchester United, has a short answer: “100% definitely done this summer. If he’s not up and running in the next six months, I’m sure Amorim will get rid of him.”
