Arsenal ready with a record bid for a “world-class” striker and throw in another who has a “gentlemen’s agreement” to be sold reasonably due to loyalty.

Arsenal ready to pay Newcastle United’s price for Alexander Isak, while others claim that another top striker is also on his way to the Emirates Stadium.

After Sunday’s win at St. James’ Park over Chelsesa, Newcastle climbed up to 3rd place in the Premier League. – Qualification for the Champions League will make the choice to be easier for Alexander Isak, who will/must/should play in Europe’s most prestigious tournament.

The fact that Arsenal again failed to win the Premier League this season has revealed the harsh reality that the club is in dire need of a striker. Gabriel Jesus is not a goal-scoring attacker, and Kai Havertz is not a natural number nine. Therefore, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta and sporting director Andrea Berta are eager to resolve the situation in the summer transfer window.

TEAMtalk’s transfer correspondent, Fraser Fletcher, reported in November 2024 that Newcastle star Isak is Mikel Arteta’s “dream target” in the 2025 summer transfers.

However, Newcastle are determined to keep Isak, and could ask for between £120 million and £150 million for him.

There have been reports that Isak is “open” to a move to the Emirates Stadium in the summer transfer window, and now it is claimed that Arsenal are ready to match Newcastle’s desired price for the Swedish international, who was described as “world class” by Newcastle legend Alan Shearer on BBC Sport in January 2025.

According to Fichajes, Arsenal are working on an offer that could reach €150 million, with the north London-based club hoping that this persuades Newcastle to let go of Isak. If Arsenal manage to get Isak for them, the former Real Sociedad striker will be the most expensive signing in the club’s history.

Arsenal paid West Ham United a club-record £100 million in the summer of 2023 to sign England international Declan Rice.

Isak has scored 62 goals and provided 11 assists in 108 appearances for Newcastle so far in his career.

Newcastle are aiming for a top-five finish in the Premier League this season and qualification for the Champions League, just like Arsenal. Viktor Gyökeres also “on his way to Arsenal”

Arsenal are interested in a summer deal for Isak and are aware of the high transfer fee required, Arsenal’s supporters should temper their enthusiasm for an impending bid. There have been strong rumours lately that Arsenal are about to sign Viktor Gyökeres from Sporting CP in the summer transfer window.

Personal terms have also reportedly been agreed upon, with journalist Graeme Bailey telling Arsenal Insider that rival clubs believe Gyökeres is on his way to Arsenal.

Bailey said:
“I hear from sources around the league that Gyökeres is on his way to Arsenal.
“Arsenal don’t confirm this, but other clubs say it – there is a belief that he is the right one.
“It would not be a big surprise, as we have said. We know that Gyökeres and Sesko are the two they have spent the most time on.
“If it’s Gyökeres, I think it’s because he’s ready to play right away, a plug and play solution – that’s why they choose him. Arsenal are in ‘win now’ mode, and Gyökeres looks like a perfect choice for me.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported on his YouTube channel in March that Sporting CP are ready to sell Gyökeres for €65-75 million, despite there being a €100 million buyout clause in his contract.

With Isak priced at over £120 million, it remains to be seen whether Arsenal will sign both the Swedish star and Gyökeres, as it would be a huge expense, but also an insane attacking line that makes the Premier League trophy a little closer.
