When Graham Potter was convinced to leave his success at Brighton in 2022, the English coach had no idea that three years later he would have been sacked by two Premier League clubs. Potter has filled up his savings account on “not doing the job”. With compensation from Chelsea of around £13 million and from West Ham £5 million, the Englishman is not suffering any financial hardship, but the SEK 4.8 million that is ticking into his account this week tastes a lot better.

Potter took over a Swedish national team that was lying with a “broken back” after the time of Jon Dahl Tomasson, where a World Cup ticket almost seemed like pure utopia, but Potter led Sweden to victory in a dramatic playoff final against Poland.

According to Aftonbladet , the English coach will be rewarded with a bonus of almost 4.8 million Swedish kronor.

Small change for a manager who has cashed in around £18 million in recent years, but clearly the best. Congratulations.
