Norwegian left winger Gustav Wikheim has been wanted back for almost nine years after he left Strømsgodset in a deal that sent 1.6 million euros from Ghent to Drammen.

Gent quickly chose to loan him to Midtjylland before there was a sale, Wikheim was also at Al-Fateh before he landed in Allsvenskan on a three-year deal almost three years ago. Now that he is leaving the “blue stripes”, Strømsgodset is one of the clubs that wants him back home in Norway.

Fotboldirekt writes that the 31-year-old is high on Strömsgodset’s sports director Jostein Flo’s wish list and they also write that the club has also communicated its interest to Wickheim’s representatives.

Gustav Wikheim belonged to Strømsgodset, who this season are seventh in the Norwegian league, between 2010-2016 before he was sold to Belgian side Genk.

The 31-year-old joined Djurgården in January 2022 and is listed for 105 games with 18 goals and nine assists to his name.
