When Ruben Amorim put his signature on Manchester United’s contract paper in November 2024, it didn’t take many hours before Viktor Gyökeres was linked with United. Amorim had coached a severely underrated striker, who did not succeed on the ball island, to deliver to world-class level. This link is still relevant, but in recent weeks the Sporting management has realized the extreme interest in the striker with 54 goals in 52 games will be exploited further. This has caused the Swede to explode, it is reported.
On Monday, Sky Sports reported that Manchester United had contacted Sporting to look at the possibilities of signing the Swedish super striker. At the same time, Portuguese Record reported that Gyökeres is furious with Sporting for making demands that can block the transfer.

Now the Portuguese media reports that the Swede has told the Sporting management that he will never play for the club again, and that he is willing to go on strike and not return to the club for preseason.
Earlier this spring, Sporting reportedly opened up for bids in the range of 60+10 million euros. Now Gyökeres is said to have learned that Sporting president Frederico Varandas is demanding interested clubs for 80 million euros.

For Gyökeres, this is said to have been a breach of a gentleman’s agreement, which he will not accept, it is reported.
