Harry Kane doesn’t hold the Premier League top scorer record, but as record holder Alan Shearer so dryly put it when Kane disappeared to the Bundesliga in 2023: “If he finishes his career in the Premier League, he will still take my record. That’s how good Kane is.” Right now, Kane is busy moving records in the Bundesliga. This weekend came the next one.

Bayern Munich beat Hoffenheim with a 1-4 win, with Kane scoring a hat-trick. The special thing was that the Englishman scored two penalties for Bayern, for a total of 17 penalties for his German club. The special thing is, of course, that Kane doesn’t miss from the penalty spot.
