It wasn’t just Heung-Min Son who had to tear up when he told Spurs supporters at a press conference in early August that he was giving up the Tottenham shirt: 454 games, an impressive 173 goals, as the 5th highest scorer in Tottenham’s history. Harry Kane believes Son’s greatness extends beyond Tottenham.
Those who have followed Tottenham over the past decade have seen Harry Kane and Son develop as one of the fiercest attacking duos in the Premier League. Son is behind 32 assists for Kane, the Englishman has been second to last on 26 of Son’s goals. Although Harry Kane and Bayern Munich played their way to a 4-0 win over Tottenham in a friendly on Thursday (Son had his last game against Newcastle), Kane takes time to pay tribute to Son.
“A big congratulations to him on his career at Tottenham. First and foremost, he is a wonderful person, and I have known him very well as a friend. He’s so humble and a great guy. As players, we probably had one of the best partnerships in Premier League history. We just had that bond where we loved playing together on the pitch,” Kane told Sky Sports about the player he shared 297 games with.
